Wenatchee, Washington to Welcome New WHL Team, the Wenatchee Wild, Formerly the Winnipeg Ice

The city of Wenatchee, Washington is set to welcome a new Western Hockey League (WHL) team, the Wenatchee Wild. The team was formerly known as the Winnipeg Ice, and is set to begin playing in the 2020-2021 season.

The Wenatchee Wild will be the first WHL team to call Wenatchee home, and is expected to bring a great deal of excitement to the city. The team will play its home games at the Town Toyota Center, a multi-purpose arena located in downtown Wenatchee. The arena has a capacity of 4,300 and is equipped with state-of-the-art amenities, making it an ideal venue for hockey games.

The Wenatchee Wild will be led by head coach and general manager Bliss Littler, who has extensive experience in the WHL. Littler is a former player and coach for the Spokane Chiefs, and has been involved in the WHL since 1998.
