The Washington Men’s Golf Team had a successful season, finishing sixth at the NCAA Regional Tournament and just one spot away from qualifying for the NCAA Championships.

The Huskies were led by senior Corey Pereira, who finished in a tie for fourth place at the tournament. Pereira shot a final round of 68 to finish with a three-round total of 205. He was the only Husky to finish in the top 10.

The team was also buoyed by the play of junior Chris Babcock, who finished in a tie for 19th place with a three-round total of 212. Junior Trevor Simsby and freshman Cheng-Tsung Pan also had strong performances, finishing in a tie for 25th and 27th place respectively.

The Huskies were in contention for the final spot in the NCAA Championships, but ultimately finished one stroke behind Oregon State, who claimed the fifth and final spot. Despite the disappointment of missing out on the NCAA Championships, the Huskies can take pride in their performance this season.

The team had a successful regular season, winning four tournaments and finishing second in two others. The Huskies also earned their first Pac-12 Championship since 2006, and their first NCAA Regional appearance since 2011.

The Huskies will now turn their attention to next season, as they look to build on their success this year and make it to the NCAA Championships. With Pereira, Babcock, Simsby and Pan all returning next season, the Huskies have the talent to make a run at the NCAA Championships.
