University of Minnesota Duluth Senior Defensive Lineman Passes Away from Genetic Heart Condition

It is with great sadness that we report the passing of University of Minnesota Duluth senior defensive lineman, Jake Johnson. Johnson passed away from a genetic heart condition on Wednesday, April 15th. He was only 21 years old.

Jake Johnson was a beloved member of the UMD football team. He was a four-year starter and was known for his leadership and work ethic. He was an integral part of the team’s success over the past few years. He was also a great friend to his teammates and was always willing to lend a helping hand.

Johnson’s death has left the UMD community in shock. The university has set up a memorial fund in his honor to help support his family during this difficult time. The university has also announced that they will be retiring Johnson’s jersey number in his honor.

Johnson’s death is a reminder of how fragile life can be. It is a reminder to cherish the time we have with our loved ones and to appreciate every moment we have together. Johnson will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
