Seattle Sports

The UConn Women’s Basketball team had an impressive victory over Dayton on Tuesday night, winning 102-58. The victory was made even more special by the return of freshman guard Paige Bueckers, who had been out with an ankle injury for the past two weeks.

Bueckers, who is considered one of the top players in the country, showed no signs of rust as she finished with 19 points, 5 assists, and 4 rebounds in her return. She was the catalyst for the Huskies offense, as they shot a blistering 57% from the field and 41% from three-point range.

The Huskies were also able to dominate on the defensive end, holding Dayton to just 32% shooting from the field and 23% from three-point range. UConn was able to force 18 turnovers and out-rebound Dayton by a margin of 43-25.

The victory was a statement win for the Huskies, who are looking to make a deep run in the NCAA tournament this year. With Bueckers back in the lineup, they have a legitimate chance to make a run at the National Championship.

UConn will look to continue their winning ways as they take on Georgetown on Thursday night. With Bueckers back in the lineup, the Huskies should be able to continue their impressive play and make a deep run in the NCAA tournament.
