UConn Guard Azzi Fudd Out for Season Due to Right Knee Injury

Seattle Sports

It’s a sad day for UConn basketball fans, as the Huskies have announced that freshman guard Azzi Fudd will be out for the remainder of the season due to a right knee injury.

Fudd, who was the top-ranked recruit in the 2020 class, had been a key contributor for the Huskies this season. She was averaging 14.5 points, 4.3 rebounds, and 2.2 assists per game, and had started all 15 games for UConn.

The injury occurred during practice on Monday, and Fudd underwent an MRI which revealed a torn ACL in her right knee. She will now have to undergo surgery to repair the injury, and will miss the remainder of the season.

This is a huge loss for the Huskies, as Fudd had been one of their most important players this season. Her ability to score, rebound, and distribute the ball had been a major factor in UConn’s success so far this season.

The Huskies will now have to find a way to replace Fudd’s production, and it won’t be easy. They will have to rely on their other guards to step up and fill the void left by Fudd’s absence.

It’s a tough break for Fudd, who had been having an impressive freshman season. She will now have to focus on her recovery and getting back to full health before she can get back on the court.

UConn fans will be hoping that Fudd can make a full recovery and return to the court next season. In the meantime, they’ll have to make do without her and hope that their other guards can step up in her absence.
