The Seattle Mariners defeated the Miami Marlins 8-1 on Tuesday night, thanks in large part to a stellar performance by third baseman Ty France. France recorded three hits and drove in four runs, leading the Mariners to an easy victory.

France got the scoring started in the top of the first inning with a two-run double off Marlins starter Sandy Alcantara. He then added an RBI single in the third inning to give the Mariners a 3-0 lead. France capped off his impressive night with a solo home run in the top of the seventh inning to extend the Mariners’ lead to 7-1.

The rest of the Mariners’ offense was also impressive, as they collected 12 hits and drew six walks against the Marlins’ pitching staff. Kyle Seager and J.P. Crawford each had two hits and two RBIs, while Dee Gordon and Tom Murphy each drove in a run.

Mariners starter Marco Gonzales was also impressive, allowing just one run on five hits over seven innings of work. He struck out seven batters and walked none, earning his fourth win of the season.

The win improved the Mariners’ record to 25-24, keeping them in contention for a playoff spot in the American League. With France leading the way, the Mariners look poised to make a run at the postseason.
