Silas to Step Down as Head Coach of Houston Rockets: AP Sources

NBA Seattle

The Houston Rockets have been a powerhouse in the NBA for years, but now it appears that their head coach, Silas, is stepping down. According to multiple sources, Silas is leaving the Rockets after two seasons in charge.

Silas was hired in 2018 to replace Mike D’Antoni and was tasked with leading the team to a championship. Unfortunately, the Rockets were unable to make it past the second round of the playoffs in either of his two seasons. Despite this, Silas was able to lead the team to a winning record in both years, and the team was considered one of the best offensive teams in the league.

The decision to part ways with Silas was reportedly made by Rockets owner Tilman Fertitta and general manager Daryl Morey. It is believed that the team wanted to go in a different direction and felt that Silas was not the right fit for the team’s future.

It is unclear who will replace Silas as head coach of the Rockets. However, there are already rumors that former Rockets assistant coach Jeff Bzdelik could be a potential candidate. Bzdelik was an assistant coach for the Rockets from 2011 to 2016 and is currently an assistant coach for the Denver Nuggets.

The departure of Silas is a major shakeup for the Rockets organization. While it remains to be seen who will be the next head coach of the team, it is clear that the team is looking to make changes in order to get back to championship contention.
