Sam Kerr is an Australian soccer star who has made a name for herself in the world of women’s football. Born in East Fremantle, Western Australia, Kerr began her football career playing Aussie Rules, but was rejected by the local club due to her age. Despite this setback, Kerr persevered and went on to become one of the most successful female soccer players in Australia.

Kerr’s career began in earnest when she joined the Perth Glory Women’s team in 2009. Since then, she has gone on to become one of the most prolific goal scorers in the W-League. She has won the Golden Boot award four times and was named the W-League Player of the Year in 2017.

Kerr’s international career has been equally impressive. She has represented Australia at two FIFA Women’s World Cups, in 2015 and 2019. At the 2019 tournament, she scored five goals and was named the tournament’s joint-top scorer alongside USA’s Alex Morgan. She was also named the Australian face of the tournament, becoming the first Australian woman to be given this honour.

Kerr has also been recognised for her off-field achievements. In 2018, she was named the Young Australian of the Year and was also included in Time Magazine’s list of the 100 most influential people in the world.

Kerr’s story is one of resilience and determination. Despite being rejected by her local Aussie Rules club, she refused to give up on her dream of becoming a professional footballer. Her hard work and dedication have paid off, and she is now one of the most recognisable faces in world football. Sam Kerr is an inspiration to young women everywhere and a reminder that anything is possible if you put your mind to it.
