Oregon Defeats Xavier 5-4 in Nashville Regional Baseball Game

On Saturday, the Oregon Ducks defeated the Xavier Musketeers in an exciting 5-4 victory in the Nashville Regional Baseball game. The Ducks, who were the number two seed in the tournament, came into the game with a lot of confidence and it showed.

Oregon started off strong, scoring three runs in the first inning. Xavier was able to answer back with a run in the second inning, but the Ducks kept their lead throughout the game. In the fourth inning, Oregon added two more runs to their lead, making it 5-1.

Xavier was able to make a comeback in the sixth inning, scoring three runs to bring it within one run. However, Oregon’s defense was able to hold off the Musketeers and secure the victory.

The Ducks’ starting pitcher, Matt Mercer, had a great performance. He pitched six innings and allowed only four hits and one earned run. He also struck out seven batters and walked only two.

The Ducks’ offense was also impressive, with five different players recording hits. Gabe Matthews led the way with two hits and two RBIs. Spencer Steer and Tim Susnara each had one hit and one RBI.
