On April 28th, 2021, Mike Bohn stepped down as the Athletic Director of the University of Southern California (USC). Bohn had served in the role for 3 1/2 years, during which time he oversaw a period of tremendous growth for the Trojans’ athletic program.

Bohn was hired in October of 2017 to replace Pat Haden, who had resigned from the position earlier that year. During his tenure, Bohn was credited with leading USC’s athletic program to new heights. He was responsible for hiring several successful coaches, including Clay Helton (football) and Andy Enfield (men’s basketball). He also helped to expand the school’s athletic facilities, including the construction of a new football and basketball practice facility.

In addition to his work on the field, Bohn was also praised for his efforts to improve student-athlete welfare. He was an advocate for mental health initiatives and worked to ensure that student-athletes had access to the best possible resources. He also worked to improve academic support for student-athletes and helped to create a culture of inclusion and respect within the athletic department.

Bohn’s departure from USC was unexpected, but it is believed that he is leaving to pursue other opportunities. While his tenure at USC was short, it was certainly impactful. He leaves behind a legacy of success and growth for the Trojans’ athletic program.

USC will now begin the search for a new athletic director. It is expected that the school will look for someone who can continue the momentum that Bohn created and take the program to even greater heights. Whoever takes on the role will have big shoes to fill, but with the right leadership, USC’s athletic program can continue to thrive.
