On Saturday, the Seattle Mariners pulled off a dramatic victory over the Toronto Blue Jays in the 10th inning. The game-winning hit came from rookie Cal Raleigh, who smashed a two-run home run to give the Mariners a 5-3 win.

Raleigh had been struggling at the plate for much of the game, going 0-for-4 before his 10th inning heroics. But he was able to come through when it mattered most, sending a pitch from Blue Jays reliever Wilmer Font into the right field stands. It was Raleigh’s first career home run and it gave the Mariners their first win of the season.

The game was a back-and-forth affair, with both teams trading leads throughout the night. The Blue Jays took an early lead in the second inning when Vladimir Guerrero Jr. hit a solo home run off of Mariners starter Marco Gonzales. The Mariners responded in the fourth inning when Kyle Seager hit a two-run blast off of Blue Jays starter Hyun-Jin Ryu.

The game remained tied until the 10th inning when Raleigh stepped up to the plate with two outs and runners on first and second. He worked a full count before sending Font’s pitch over the wall for the game-winning hit.

The victory was a big one for the Mariners, who have been struggling to start the season. It was also a special moment for Raleigh, who is in his first season in the majors. He is sure to remember his first career home run for years to come.
