Mariners bringing back utility man Dylan Moore on three-year deal

Mariners Seattle

The Mariners and utility man Dylan Moore have agreed to a three-year contract extension worth $8.875 million, major league sources confirmed Wednesday.

The deal buys out the final two year of arbitration and what would have been Moore’s first year of free agency.

The 30-year-old has been a key figure in many roles for the Mariners since 2019. He played every position except pitcher and catcher last season, posting a .224/.368/.385 slash line with six homers and 21 steals in 104 games.

Moore had offseason surgery to repair a core muscle. The Mariners are hopeful he’ll be ready to play by Opening Day.

ESPN’s Jeff Passan first reported Moore’s deal Wednesday evening. Incentives in the contract could push the value of the deal north of $9 million, Passan reported.
