The WNBA’s Seattle Storm faced off against the Minnesota Lynx in an exciting overtime game on Sunday night. Despite a stellar performance from Storm guard Jewell Loyd, who scored a career-high 41 points, the Storm were unable to come away with the win, falling to the Lynx in overtime, 87-84.
Loyd was the star of the show for the Storm, setting a new career-high in points and shooting an impressive 14-of-25 from the field. She also added seven rebounds and three assists in the loss. Loyd’s 41 points were the most by a Storm player since Lauren Jackson scored 43 points in a game in 2007.
Despite Loyd’s impressive performance, the Storm were unable to come away with the win. The Lynx were able to contain the Storm’s offense in the fourth quarter, holding them to just 10 points in the period. The Lynx then pulled away in overtime, outscoring the Storm 11-4 in the extra period.
The Storm will now look to regroup and bounce back from this tough loss. While Loyd’s 41 points were certainly impressive, it was not enough to carry the team to victory. The Storm will need to find a way to get more production from their other players if they want to turn things around and start winning games.
