Irad Ortiz Jr. Unseated and Filly Euthanized Following Racing Incident at Saratoga

On August 3rd, a tragic incident occurred at Saratoga Race Course in Saratoga Springs, New York. Jockey Irad Ortiz Jr. was unseated from his horse, No Mo Dough, during a race and the filly was subsequently euthanized due to the severity of her injuries.

The incident occurred during the fourth race of the day at Saratoga Race Course. No Mo Dough was running in the lead when she suddenly veered off course and fell to the ground. Ortiz Jr. was thrown from the horse and suffered minor injuries. Unfortunately, No Mo Dough suffered a fractured shoulder and had to be euthanized on the track.

The incident has been met with sadness and shock by the racing community. Ortiz Jr., who is one of the top jockeys in the country, was visibly shaken by the incident. He was taken to the hospital for evaluation and released shortly after.
