Harrington and Kuchar Tied for Lead After First Round of Texas Open

Seattle Sports

The first round of the Texas Open was an exciting one, as two of the top golfers in the world, Harrington and Kuchar, tied for the lead. Both players shot a 7-under 65 on the par-72 course, putting them one stroke ahead of the rest of the field.

Harrington, a three-time major champion, got off to a hot start with four birdies in his first five holes. He then cooled off a bit, but still managed to finish the round with seven birdies and no bogeys. Kuchar, meanwhile, was steady throughout the round, making four birdies and one bogey on the front nine and three birdies and no bogeys on the back nine.

The two players have had very different careers thus far. Harrington has won three major championships and has been a consistent presence on the PGA Tour for years. Kuchar, on the other hand, is still relatively new to the Tour and has yet to win a major.

Despite their differences, both players have been playing well lately. Harrington has had two top-10 finishes in his last three tournaments, while Kuchar has finished in the top 10 in five of his last six tournaments.

The Texas Open is still wide open, as there are a number of players within striking distance of the leaders. However, Harrington and Kuchar have set the bar high and will be tough to beat. It will be interesting to see how the rest of the tournament plays out and if either of these two can hold on to their lead.
