The Memphis Grizzlies pulled off a thrilling 119-109 victory over the Portland Trail Blazers on Wednesday night, thanks in large part to a late surge from guard Desmond Bane.

Bane, who was acquired in a trade with the Dallas Mavericks earlier this season, had an impressive night, scoring 17 points, grabbing four rebounds, and dishing out five assists. He was instrumental in the Grizzlies’ fourth-quarter comeback, scoring 10 points in the final frame to help seal the victory.

The Grizzlies trailed by as many as 11 points in the fourth quarter before mounting a furious rally. Bane’s three-pointer with just over two minutes left in the game gave Memphis their first lead since the second quarter. He then added a layup and two free throws to help put the game away.

The rest of the Grizzlies’ starting lineup also had strong performances. Ja Morant led the way with 24 points and seven assists, while Jonas Valanciunas added 20 points and 15 rebounds. Dillon Brooks and Kyle Anderson chipped in with 16 and 14 points respectively.

The Trail Blazers were led by Damian Lillard, who had a game-high 32 points and nine assists. CJ McCollum added 22 points, while Carmelo Anthony had 19 points and 10 rebounds.

The win was a big one for the Grizzlies, who have now won three of their last four games and are currently sitting in sixth place in the Western Conference standings. They will look to keep their momentum going as they take on the Los Angeles Lakers on Friday night.
