The United States Men’s National Soccer Team (USMNT) has recently reappointed Gregg Berhalter as head coach following a feud and domestic-violence investigation. Berhalter had previously been the USMNT head coach from December 2018 to November 2020, when he was replaced by former USMNT player and assistant coach, Dave Sarachan.

The feud between Berhalter and US Soccer Federation President Carlos Cordeiro began in 2019 when Cordeiro accused Berhalter of not doing enough to develop young players. This led to a public spat between the two, with both sides exchanging barbs in the media.

The domestic-violence investigation was launched in October 2020 after allegations were made against Berhalter by his ex-wife. The investigation was conducted by the USSF and concluded that there was no evidence of any wrongdoing on Berhalter’s part.

Berhalter’s reappointment as USMNT head coach was announced in April 2021. He will be tasked with leading the team through the 2022 World Cup Qualifiers and the 2026 World Cup.

Berhalter is an experienced coach, having previously managed the Columbus Crew and the Swedish national team. He is also a former USMNT player, having made 44 appearances for the team between 1994 and 2006.

Berhalter’s reappointment as USMNT head coach is a positive step forward for the team. He has a proven track record of success and is well respected by players and fans alike. His experience and knowledge of the game will be invaluable as the team looks to qualify for the 2022 World Cup and beyond.

The USMNT is now in good hands with Gregg Berhalter at the helm. He has the experience, knowledge, and respect needed to lead the team to success in the upcoming World Cup Qualifiers and beyond.
