The Eastern Washington Eagles made a statement in their Big Sky Conference opener, defeating the UC Davis Aggies by a score of 73-60. The Eagles, who are coming off a strong season last year, were led by senior guard Tyler Kidd, who scored a game-high 22 points. Kidd was supported by fellow senior forward Mason Peatling, who added 19 points and 11 rebounds.

The Eagles jumped out to an early lead and never looked back, leading by as many as 17 points in the first half. The Aggies were able to cut the lead to seven points at the half, but the Eagles responded with a strong second half performance to secure the victory.

Eastern Washington was able to take advantage of their size and athleticism, out-rebounding UC Davis 41-27. The Eagles also shot the ball well from beyond the arc, connecting on 10 three-pointers. Eastern Washington also did a good job of taking care of the ball, committing just nine turnovers in the game.

The win was a big one for Eastern Washington, as it gives them a 1-0 start to the Big Sky Conference season. The Eagles will look to continue their winning ways in their next game against Montana State on Saturday. If Eastern Washington can continue to play with the same intensity and focus that they showed in this game, they could be in for a successful season.
