The Chicago Blackhawks have placed forward Connor Bedard on injured reserve with a broken jaw. The injury occurred during a game against the Dallas Stars on April 11th.

Bedard, who was selected in the first round of the 2021 NHL Draft, had been playing in the American Hockey League (AHL) for the Rockford IceHogs. He had been called up to the Blackhawks for the game against the Stars, but his time with the team was cut short due to the injury.

The 19-year-old forward had been making an impact with the IceHogs, scoring five goals and adding seven assists in 18 games. He was also named the AHL Rookie of the Month for March after recording seven points in nine games.

Bedard is expected to miss at least four weeks of action due to the injury. He will be re-evaluated by team doctors at that time to determine if he can return to action.

The Blackhawks have yet to announce a timeline for Bedard’s return, but they are hopeful that he will be able to return to action soon. In the meantime, the team will look to other players to fill his role in the lineup.

The injury to Bedard is a setback for the Blackhawks, but they are confident that he will be able to make a full recovery and return to action soon.
