It’s been a big week for Canadian swimmer Summer McIntosh! The 16-year-old has just won her second gold medal at the Swimming World Championships in Japan.

McIntosh, who hails from Vancouver, British Columbia, won her first gold medal in the 200m backstroke on Tuesday. She followed that up with a win in the 100m backstroke on Wednesday, making her the first Canadian swimmer to win two gold medals at the same World Championships.

McIntosh’s success is even more impressive given her age. At just 16, she is one of the youngest swimmers competing at the World Championships. She is also the first Canadian swimmer to win two gold medals at the event since 2012.

McIntosh’s coach, Mark Schubert, was full of praise for her performance. “Summer has worked incredibly hard to get to this point,” he said. “She is a great example of what dedication and hard work can achieve.”

McIntosh is now looking forward to competing in the 2020 Tokyo Olympics. With her two gold medals from the World Championships, she is well on her way to becoming one of Canada’s top swimmers.

McIntosh’s success is a great example of what young athletes can achieve with dedication and hard work. She is an inspiration to all aspiring swimmers and a great ambassador for Canadian swimming.
