The Seattle Storm have taken a commanding 2-0 series lead in the WNBA Finals after a dominant 104-76 victory over the Las Vegas Aces. Led by a stellar performance from Breanna Stewart, the Storm were able to take control of the game early and never look back.
Stewart scored a game-high 28 points and added nine rebounds, three assists, and two steals. She was supported by Jewell Loyd who had 18 points and four assists, and Sue Bird who had 14 points and five assists. The Storm’s balanced attack was too much for the Aces to handle as they had no answer for Seattle’s offensive firepower.
The Aces were led by A’ja Wilson who had a team-high 22 points and seven rebounds. Angel McCoughtry also had a solid performance with 19 points and five rebounds. However, the rest of the team struggled to make an impact as they shot just 37 percent from the field and were outrebounded by the Storm 43-29.
The Storm’s victory was a testament to their depth and balance as they had seven players score in double figures. They also dominated the glass, outrebounding the Aces by 14. The Storm’s defense was also impressive as they held the Aces to just 76 points on 37 percent shooting from the field.
The Storm now have a commanding 2-0 lead in the series and will look to close out the series in Game 3 on Friday night. If they can continue to play at this level, they will be tough to beat. The Aces will need to find a way to slow down the Storm’s offense if they want to have any chance of coming back in this series.
