It is with a heavy heart that we report the passing of Vince Tobin, former head coach of the Arizona Cardinals. He passed away at the age of 79 on Wednesday, April 28th.
Tobin was born in 1940 in South Bend, Indiana. He attended Indiana University and played football for the Hoosiers. After college, Tobin went on to coach at various universities, including the University of Arizona and the University of Illinois.
In 1996, Tobin was hired as the head coach of the Arizona Cardinals. During his time with the team, he led them to two playoff appearances and compiled a record of 33-34. He was also named NFL Coach of the Year in 1998.
Tobin was well-liked by his players and colleagues alike. He was known for his calm demeanor and ability to bring out the best in his players. He was also known for his loyalty to the Cardinals organization, even after he left the team in 2000.
Tobin is survived by his wife, three children, and four grandchildren. His legacy will live on through the many lives he touched during his time with the Cardinals. He will be remembered as a great coach and an even better man.
