On Friday, April 12th, Tiger Woods made his return to the Masters tournament after a three-year absence. After a strong start on Thursday, Woods was looking to make a move up the leaderboard on day two. Unfortunately, he was unable to do so and finished the day in a tie for 51st place, just barely making the cut line and advancing to the weekend rounds.
Woods began the day with a 1-over par 73, which put him in a tie for 25th place. He started off the day with a birdie on the first hole, but then had a bogey on the second. He then had a birdie on the fourth hole, but followed that up with a bogey on the fifth. He then had four pars in a row before ending the front nine with a bogey on the ninth.
The back nine was much of the same for Woods, as he had two birdies and three bogeys. He ended the day with a 1-over par 73, which put him in a tie for 51st place. This was just enough to make the cut line and advance to the weekend rounds.
This marks the first time since 2015 that Woods has made it to the weekend rounds at the Masters. While he is still far from contention for the title, this is an encouraging sign for Woods as he continues his comeback from injury.
It will be interesting to see how Woods fares in the weekend rounds of the Masters. He will need to make some big moves if he wants to make a run at the title. However, even if he doesn’t, this is still an impressive feat for Woods and a sign of his continued progress as he continues his comeback from injury.
