It’s been a long road for Zach Durfee, but the University of Washington football player is finally eligible to make his debut in the College Football Playoff. After transferring from Eastern Washington University in 2019, Durfee was forced to sit out the entire 2019 season due to NCAA transfer rules. Now, after a successful 2020 season, Durfee is ready to take the field and make an impact for the Huskies.
Durfee is a 6-foot-5, 230-pound quarterback who has been praised for his athleticism and arm strength. He was a two-time All-Big Sky Conference selection while at Eastern Washington and was named the Big Sky Newcomer of the Year in 2018. He threw for 3,739 yards and 28 touchdowns in his two seasons at Eastern Washington.
Durfee has been working hard to learn the Huskies’ offensive system and is expected to provide a spark to the team’s offense. He will be competing with redshirt freshman Dylan Morris for the starting quarterback job. With his size and athleticism, Durfee could be a major asset for the Huskies in the College Football Playoff.
Durfee has already made an impact on the Huskies’ program, even before taking the field. He has been a leader in the locker room and has been praised by his teammates and coaches for his work ethic and dedication.
The University of Washington is excited to have Durfee eligible for the College Football Playoff and is looking forward to seeing what he can do on the field.
