Yankees’ Judge Becomes First Player to Hit 3 Home Runs Twice in One Season

MLB Seattle

The New York Yankees have been making history this season, and their star right fielder Aaron Judge is leading the way. On September 4th, Judge became the first player in Major League Baseball history to hit three home runs in a game twice in one season.

Judge’s first three-homer game came on June 11th against the Baltimore Orioles. His second came against the Toronto Blue Jays on September 4th. In both games, Judge went 3-for-4 with three home runs and four RBIs. His performance against the Blue Jays was especially impressive, as he hit all three of his home runs off of different pitchers.

Judge’s feat is even more impressive when you consider the fact that he is only the second Yankee in history to accomplish it. The first was Hall of Famer Mickey Mantle, who did it in 1956. Judge is also the first player in MLB history to hit three home runs in a game twice in one season since the Arizona Diamondbacks’ Mark Reynolds in 2009.

Judge’s performance this season has been nothing short of remarkable. He leads the American League in home runs (36) and is second in RBIs (80). He also leads the Yankees in batting average (.281) and slugging percentage (.541).

The Yankees have been one of the best teams in baseball this season, and Judge has been a big part of their success. His historic performance on September 4th is just another example of why he is one of the best players in the game today.
