As the Women’s Professional Hockey League (WPHL) prepares to open training camps across the United States and Canada, the league is thrilled to announce that rosters and staff are in place. This marks a major milestone for the league, which is set to begin its inaugural season this fall.

The WPHL is the first professional women’s hockey league in North America since the Canadian Women’s Hockey League (CWHL) folded in 2019. The league will feature teams from across the United States and Canada, including the Boston Pride, Connecticut Whale, Minnesota Whitecaps, Toronto Six, and more.

The WPHL has recruited some of the best players in the world to join its teams. Among them are Olympic gold medalists Hilary Knight and Kendall Coyne Schofield, as well as former CWHL stars such as Rebecca Johnston and Marie-Philip Poulin. The league also boasts a strong coaching staff, including former NHL players such as Angela Ruggiero and Hayley Wickenheiser.

The WPHL is committed to providing a safe and supportive environment for its players. The league has implemented a comprehensive health and safety plan that includes regular testing for COVID-19, as well as contact tracing protocols. The league has also established a Player Assistance Program to provide mental health and wellness support for its players.

The WPHL is also dedicated to growing the game of women’s hockey and inspiring the next generation of female athletes. The league has partnered with USA Hockey to create a youth development program that will provide opportunities for young girls to learn the game of hockey and develop their skills.

The WPHL is poised to make history this season, and the league is excited to get started. With rosters and staff in place, training camps are set to open soon, and the inaugural season of the WPHL is just around the corner.
