Williams, Robertson lead No. 23 Oklahoma women past Florida

CHARLOTTE, N.C. (AP) — Madi Williams had a double-double, Taylor Robertson added 18 points on six 3-pointers, and No. 23 Oklahoma defeated Florida 95-79 in the women’s game of the Jumpman Invitational on Wednesday night.

Robertson made 6-of-7 3-pointers and matched her own Big 12 record of 53 consecutive games with a 3-pointer. It marked the 14th time during the current streak that she has made at least five 3-pointers.

Williams had 22 points and 11 rebounds for the Sooners (10-1), who have won seven in a row. Skylar Vann had 15 points and Nevaeh Tot scored 12.

Florida’s Kirsten Deans made a career-high seven 3-pointers, scored 28 points and had nine assists. Ra Shaya Kyle had 16 points and 13 rebounds for her second consecutive double-double, the fifth in her career. Nina Rickards added 15 points for the Gators (11-2).

Despite shooting 34.8% in the first quarter, the Sooners led 21-9 after one. Oklahoma made 4 of its first 5 shots in the second quarter, extending the lead to 31-11 before the first media timeout. The Sooners led by at least 18 the rest of the half and took a 43-23 lead into the break.

After shooting 25% in the first half, Florida made 10 of 16 shots (62.5%) in the third quarter but failed to gain on the scoreboard as Oklahoma took a 69-48 lead into the fourth quarter.

Deans scored 19 points in the fourth quarter, making 5 of 8 3-pointers, and the Gators got as close as 14 points.

In the men’s game on Wednesday, North Carolina defeated Michigan 80-76.
