The Washington Women’s Basketball team has made history after defeating Oregon State in the WNIT quarterfinals. This marks the first time in the program’s history that they have advanced to the Final Four of the Women’s National Invitational Tournament (WNIT).
The Huskies had a strong performance against Oregon State, winning by a score of 68-58. Washington was led by senior guard Amber Melgoza, who scored a game-high 24 points and grabbed seven rebounds. Senior forward Mai-Loni Henson also had a strong performance, scoring 16 points and grabbing nine rebounds.
The victory over Oregon State was a special moment for the Huskies, as they have been working hard all season to make it to the Final Four. The team has been playing with a lot of heart and determination, and their hard work has paid off.
Washington will now face off against the University of South Florida in the WNIT semifinals. The Huskies will be looking to continue their success and make it to the championship game. If they are able to do so, it would be a huge accomplishment for the program and would be a great way to end their season.
