Washington State University is proud to announce that two of its star players, Charlisse Leger-Walker and Borislava Murekatete, have been named to the Pac-12 Women’s Basketball Preseason Team. This is a great honor for both players and for the university as a whole.
Leger-Walker, a sophomore guard from New Zealand, was the first player from her country to be named to the Pac-12 Preseason Team. She averaged 13.2 points per game last season and was named to the All-Pac-12 Freshman Team. She is also a two-time New Zealand National Player of the Year.
Murekatete, a senior forward from Rwanda, has been a leader on the court since she arrived at Washington State. She was the team’s leading scorer last season, averaging 14.2 points per game. She was also named to the All-Pac-12 Second Team and the All-Defensive Team.
These two players have been key contributors to the success of Washington State’s women’s basketball team. They have helped lead the team to two consecutive NCAA Tournament appearances and have been instrumental in helping the team reach new heights.
The Pac-12 Preseason Team is made up of the top players from each of the 12 conference teams. It is an honor for both Leger-Walker and Murekatete to be named to this prestigious team and it is a testament to their hard work and dedication to the game of basketball.
