The Washington State Women’s Basketball team put on a show on Saturday, taking down Idaho State in convincing fashion. The Cougars used a balanced attack to take down the Bengals, with five players scoring in double figures.
The Cougars were led by senior guard Chanelle Molina, who scored a team-high 17 points. Molina was efficient from the field, shooting 6-for-10 from the floor and 4-for-7 from beyond the arc. She also added four rebounds and three assists in the victory.
Junior forward Borislava Hristova also had a strong performance, scoring 16 points on 6-for-10 shooting from the field. She also added five rebounds and two assists in the win.
The Cougars also got strong performances from their bench, with freshman guard Alexys Swedlund scoring 14 points and sophomore forward Bella Murekatete adding 12 points and seven rebounds.
Washington State shot a blistering 53 percent from the field and 40 percent from beyond the arc. They also outrebounded Idaho State 37-26 and forced 19 turnovers.
The Cougars’ victory was a total team effort, as they had five players score in double figures and got strong contributions from their bench. It was an impressive performance from Washington State, and they will look to carry this momentum into their next game against Oregon State.
