Washington State University (WSU) football is thrilled to announce that two three-star recruits have committed to join the Cougars for the 2024 season. The two recruits, offensive lineman Jaden Johnson and linebacker Mason Smith, both hail from the state of Washington and are expected to make an immediate impact on the WSU program.
Jaden Johnson is a 6-foot-4, 290-pound offensive lineman from Seattle, Washington. He is rated as a three-star recruit by 247Sports and is ranked as the No. 13 overall prospect in the state of Washington. Johnson is a powerful run blocker who has the ability to move defenders off the line of scrimmage with ease. He also has the athleticism to pull and get to the second level in the running game. Johnson is a versatile lineman who can play both guard and tackle, making him an ideal fit for WSU’s offense.
Mason Smith is a 6-foot-2, 210-pound linebacker from Spokane, Washington. He is also rated as a three-star recruit by 247Sports and is ranked as the No. 17 overall prospect in the state of Washington. Smith is an athletic linebacker who can cover a lot of ground in the passing game and has the ability to make plays in space. He is also a sure tackler who wraps up ball carriers and brings them down with authority. Smith’s athleticism and instincts make him an ideal fit for WSU’s defense.
The addition of Johnson and Smith to the WSU football program is a major coup for head coach Nick Rolovich and his staff. Both players have the potential to be impact players for the Cougars and should be key contributors for years to come. With these two recruits in the fold, WSU is poised to make a run at the Pac-12 championship in 2024.
