Washington State University (WSU) Cougars basketball team has recently received a commitment from highly-regarded combo guard Adam Njie. The 6-foot-3 guard from Seattle, Washington is considered one of the top prospects in the state and is expected to make an immediate impact for the Cougars.
Njie is a four-star recruit according to 247Sports, and is ranked as the No. 2 combo guard in the state and No. 24 nationally. He is also ranked as the No. 4 overall prospect in the state of Washington. Njie is a versatile guard who can play both on and off the ball, and he has the ability to score from all three levels. He averaged 17 points, five rebounds, and four assists per game during his senior season at Rainier Beach High School.
Njie chose WSU over offers from Oregon, Washington, and USC. He joins a talented incoming freshman class that includes four-star forward Noah Williams and three-star guard Andrej Jakimovski. With Njie in the fold, the Cougars now have one of the most talented backcourts in the Pac-12 conference.
Head coach Kyle Smith is excited to have Njie join the program. “Adam is a special player who can do a lot of different things on the court,” Smith said. “He can score from all three levels and he’s a great passer. He’s going to be a great addition to our team and I’m looking forward to seeing what he can do for us this season.”
The addition of Njie gives WSU a great chance to make some noise in the Pac-12 this season. The Cougars have a talented roster that includes returning starters CJ Elleby and Isaac Bonton, as well as a deep bench that includes Williams and Jakimovski. With Njie in the mix, the Cougars have the potential to be one of the top teams in the conference this season.
Adam Njie is an exciting addition to the WSU Cougars basketball program, and he has the potential to be a star for the team this season. With his versatility and ability to score from all three levels, Njie will be an important part of the Cougars’ success this year.
