Football season is in full swing and Washington State is already making waves in the college football world. The Cougars have recently received a commitment from California running back, Jaden Navarrette.
Navarrette is a four-star recruit from San Diego, California. He is rated as the No. 8 running back in the nation according to 247Sports Composite Rankings. He is also the No. 22 overall recruit in the state of California.
Navarrette is a powerful runner with good speed and agility. He has the ability to make defenders miss and has great vision when running the ball. He is also a good pass catcher out of the backfield, which makes him a valuable asset to any offense.
Navarrette chose Washington State over offers from Arizona State, Colorado, Oregon State, and Utah. He was also receiving interest from UCLA and USC.
Washington State head coach Mike Leach is thrilled to add Navarrette to his roster. “Jaden is an outstanding football player and an even better person,” said Leach. “He has the potential to be a great addition to our team and we are excited to have him join us in Pullman.”
Navarrette is the second running back to commit to Washington State this year, joining three-star recruit, Jaxon Brown. With these two recruits in the fold, the Cougars have added some much-needed depth to their backfield.
Washington State will be looking to make some noise in the Pac-12 this season and with Navarrette on board, they have taken a big step towards that goal. The Cougars are hoping that Navarrette can help them reach new heights this season and beyond.
