The Washington State Cougars men’s basketball team is making some big moves this offseason. First, they have announced that Adrame Diongue has entered the NCAA transfer portal. Diongue, a 6-foot-10 center, was a key contributor for the Cougars last season, averaging 8.2 points and 4.6 rebounds per game. He was also an important part of the team’s defense, blocking 1.3 shots per game.
The Cougars have also added two transfers to their roster. Guard Noah Williams and forward Jervae Robinson have both committed to Washington State. Williams is a 6-foot-4 guard from Gonzaga who averaged 5.3 points and 2.3 rebounds per game last season. Robinson is a 6-foot-7 forward from the University of California, Santa Barbara who averaged 8.3 points and 5.3 rebounds per game last season.
These two transfers will help bolster the Cougars’ lineup for the upcoming season. Williams is a talented shooter who can stretch the floor and create space for his teammates. Robinson is a versatile forward who can score inside and out and is a good rebounder. Both players will provide a much needed boost to the Cougars’ offense and defense.
Washington State head coach Kyle Smith is excited about the new additions to his team. “We are thrilled to add Noah and Jervae to our program,” Smith said in a statement. “They are both talented players who will make an immediate impact on our team. We are looking forward to having them on campus and getting to work this summer.”
The Cougars are looking to build off of their success from last season, when they finished with an 18-13 record and made it to the second round of the NCAA Tournament. With Diongue entering the transfer portal and two new transfers joining the team, the Cougars have set themselves up for another successful season in 2021-22.
