The Washington men’s soccer team opened their season with a bang, recording a 2-0 victory over South Florida in their first match of the year. The Huskies dominated the match from start to finish, controlling possession and creating numerous chances throughout the game.
The first goal of the match came in the 23rd minute, when midfielder Dylan Teves found the back of the net with a well-placed shot from outside the box. The Huskies continued to press forward, and in the 42nd minute, forward Lucas Meek scored his first goal of the season to double Washington’s lead.
Washington’s defense was solid throughout the match, limiting South Florida to only a few chances. Goalkeeper Sam Fowler was particularly impressive, making several key saves to preserve the clean sheet.
