The Golden State Warriors defeated the Los Angeles Lakers 127-100 on Sunday night, with Klay Thompson leading the way with 30 points. The Warriors were able to take control of the game early, and never looked back.
The Warriors got off to a hot start, outscoring the Lakers 33-20 in the first quarter. Thompson was the catalyst, scoring 17 points in the period. He was able to get to the rim at will, and also knocked down three three-pointers. The Warriors were able to maintain their lead throughout the game, and never allowed the Lakers to get within single digits.
The Warriors were able to get contributions from all over the court. Stephen Curry added 24 points, while Draymond Green had a double-double with 16 points and 10 rebounds. Kevin Durant also chipped in with 15 points and 8 assists. The Warriors were able to shoot a blistering 57% from the field, and also knocked down 15 three-pointers.
The Lakers were led by LeBron James, who had a team-high 26 points. He was able to get to the rim at will, but was unable to get any help from his teammates. Kyle Kuzma added 17 points off the bench, but it was not enough to keep up with the Warriors’ offensive onslaught.
The Warriors’ victory was their fourth in a row, and they now sit atop the Western Conference standings. They will look to continue their winning ways when they face the Houston Rockets on Tuesday night. The Lakers will look to bounce back when they face the Denver Nuggets on Wednesday night.
