The Virginia Tech Hokies pulled off a thrilling 82-75 victory over the Boise State Broncos in the ESPN Events Invitational on Saturday night. The Hokies were led by freshman guard Hunter Cattoor, who scored a career-high 29 points. He was supported by senior forward Tyrece Radford, who added 17 points and 8 rebounds.

The Hokies started off the game strong, taking a 10-point lead into the half. However, the Broncos fought back in the second half and managed to tie the game at 75 with just over two minutes left in the game. The Hokies then went on a 7-0 run to close out the game and secure the win.

Cattoor was the star of the night for Virginia Tech, shooting 11-of-17 from the field and 4-of-7 from three-point range. He also had 4 assists and 3 steals in the game. Radford was also impressive, shooting 6-of-10 from the field and 5-of-7 from the free throw line. He also had 3 blocks and 2 steals.

The Hokies were also aided by a strong performance from their bench. Freshman forward Justyn Mutts had 11 points and 6 rebounds, while sophomore guard Jalen Cone contributed 9 points and 4 assists.

The win was an important one for the Hokies, as it improved their record to 8-3 on the season. It was also a great way to start off the ESPN Events Invitational, as they will now face off against the Florida Gators on Monday night.

Virginia Tech’s win over Boise State was a great team effort that saw contributions from all over the court. Cattoor and Radford led the way, but it was the Hokies’ bench that made the difference in the end. If they can continue to get this kind of production from their reserves, they could be a dangerous team in the ACC this season.
