The Vegas Golden Knights have been on a roll lately, and their latest victory was no exception. On April 8th, the Golden Knights defeated the Edmonton Oilers 5-1 behind strong performances from Jonathan Marchessault and Jack Eichel.
Marchessault scored two goals in the first period and added an assist in the third period to lead the Golden Knights to victory. He now has 11 goals and 25 points in 31 games this season. Eichel also had a strong performance, scoring a goal and adding two assists. He now has eight goals and 24 points in 31 games this season.
The Golden Knights were able to control the pace of the game throughout, outshooting the Oilers 32-23. Goaltender Marc-Andre Fleury was solid in net, making 22 saves on 23 shots. He now has a record of 8-3-1 with a 2.48 goals against average and a .921 save percentage.
The win was the Golden Knights’ fourth in a row, and they now have a record of 14-5-2. They are currently in second place in the West Division and are looking to make a run for the playoffs.
The Oilers, on the other hand, have struggled this season and are now 6-14-0. They have been unable to find any consistency this season, and their playoff hopes are quickly fading away.
Overall, it was a great performance by the Golden Knights, who were led by Marchessault and Eichel’s strong performances. They will look to continue their winning streak as they face off against the San Jose Sharks on April 10th.
