The Ryder Cup is one of the most anticipated golf tournaments of the year, and this year’s event did not disappoint. The United States team was hoping to start off strong, but Europe had other plans. In the opening session of the Ryder Cup, Europe took a commanding 4-0 lead over the United States.
The first match of the day saw Europe’s Henrik Stenson and Justin Rose take on the American duo of Dustin Johnson and Rickie Fowler. The Europeans were able to take a 2-up lead after the first nine holes, and they never looked back. They went on to win the match 4&3.
The second match saw Europe’s Sergio Garcia and Rory McIlroy take on the American duo of Jordan Spieth and Patrick Reed. This match was much closer, but Europe was able to pull out a 1-up victory.
The third match saw Europe’s Paul Casey and Tyrrell Hatton take on the American duo of Brooks Koepka and Tony Finau. This match was also close, but Europe was able to come out on top with a 1-up victory.
The fourth and final match of the day saw Europe’s Ian Poulter and Francesco Molinari take on the American duo of Bubba Watson and Webb Simpson. This match was all Europe, as they were able to take a 3&2 victory.
The opening session of the Ryder Cup was a disappointment for the United States team, but there is still plenty of golf to be played. The Americans will need to regroup and come out strong in the next session if they want to have any chance of winning the Ryder Cup. It will be an exciting few days of golf, and it should be a great tournament.
