The US Women’s National Team (USWNT) made history at the 2019 FIFA Women’s World Cup in France, and one of the standout players was Savannah DeMelo. DeMelo, a 21-year-old midfielder from Bellflower, California, made her debut for the USWNT in the tournament.
DeMelo was part of the USWNT squad that won the 2019 SheBelieves Cup, and she was also part of the team that won the 2018 CONCACAF Women’s Championship. She was called up to the USWNT for the 2019 FIFA Women’s World Cup and made her debut in the team’s opening match against Thailand. DeMelo played the full 90 minutes and helped the USWNT to a 13-0 victory.

After graduating from USC in 2018, she signed with the North Carolina Courage of the National Women’s Soccer League (NWSL).
