The University of Washington Huskies have received verbal commitments from two highly-touted prospects: three-star quarterback Sam Huard and three-star defensive lineman J.T. Tuimoloau.
Huard, a 6-foot-1, 195-pound signal caller from Kennedy Catholic High School in Burien, Washington, is the No. 4 ranked pro-style quarterback in the 2020 class according to 247Sports. He is the younger brother of former UW quarterback Jake Huard and is the highest-rated quarterback to commit to the Huskies since Jacob Eason in 2016. Huard had offers from several other Pac-12 schools, including Oregon, Stanford, and UCLA.
Tuimoloau, a 6-foot-5, 265-pound defensive lineman from Eastside Catholic High School in Sammamish, Washington, is the No. 1 ranked strongside defensive end in the 2020 class according to 247Sports. Tuimoloau had offers from several other Pac-12 schools, including Oregon, USC, and Utah. He is the highest-rated defensive lineman to commit to the Huskies since Elijah Molden in 2017.
The commitments of Huard and Tuimoloau are a huge boost for the Huskies as they look to build on their success from last season. The Huskies finished with a 10-4 record and won the Pac-12 North Division title. With these two highly touted prospects joining the team, the Huskies are poised to make a run at a Pac-12 championship this season.
The Huskies have been recruiting well under head coach Chris Petersen and these two commitments are just the latest example of that. With Huard and Tuimoloau in the fold, the Huskies have added two more highly talented players to an already talented roster. The future looks bright for the Huskies and these two commitments are just another step in the right direction.
