AMHERST, Mass. (AP) — Noah Fernandes’ 26 points helped UMass defeat Saint Louis 90-81 on Wednesday night.
Fernandes had seven assists for the Minutemen (10-4). RJ Luis scored 11 points and added five rebounds. Isaac Kante was 3 of 6 shooting and 5 of 7 from the free throw line to finish with 11 points.
Yuri Collins led the Billikens (9-6) in scoring, finishing with 16 points and 10 assists. Sincere Parker added 15 points for Saint Louis. Francis Okoro also had 10 points, two steals and two blocks.
UMass took the lead with 8:28 to go in the first half and did not give it up. The score was 40-29 at halftime, with Fernandes racking up nine points. Fernandes’ 17-point second half helped UMass close out the nine-point victory.

Both teams play again on Saturday. UMass visits George Washington and Saint Louis hosts Saint Bonaventure.
