The UConn Huskies have done it again! On April 5th, 2021, the UConn Huskies defeated the San Diego State Aztecs 76-59 to become the 2021 NCAA March Madness Champions. This marks the fifth time in program history that the UConn Huskies have won the NCAA March Madness Championship, and their first since 2014.
The Huskies were led by star guard Paige Bueckers, who scored a game-high 24 points and was named the Most Outstanding Player of the Final Four. Bueckers was joined by fellow guard Evina Westbrook, who added 15 points and five assists, and forward Aaliyah Edwards, who scored 14 points and grabbed seven rebounds. The Huskies dominated the game from start to finish, outscoring the Aztecs in every quarter and never relinquishing their lead.
