On Tuesday night, San Diego Padres third baseman Ty France was hit by a pitch in the top of the fourth inning against the Los Angeles Dodgers. Fortunately, France was able to walk away from the incident unscathed, and he later described himself as “lucky” to have avoided injury.
The pitch, thrown by Dodgers pitcher Julio Urias, struck France in the back of his left shoulder. After being hit, France remained in the game for a few moments before being replaced by pinch hitter Jorge Mateo. France was examined by Padres medical staff and was cleared of any serious injury.
France’s reaction to being hit by the pitch was one of relief, as he was thankful to have avoided any serious harm. He later told reporters that he felt “lucky” to have escaped without injury.
This is not the first time France has been hit by a pitch this season. In April, he was hit in the leg by a pitch thrown by San Francisco Giants pitcher Jeff Samardzija. Fortunately, France was able to recover from that incident without any long-term issues.
France is in his second season with the Padres and is having a breakout year. He is currently batting .305 with 11 home runs and 43 RBIs. He has also been a key contributor to the Padres’ success this season, as they are currently in first place in the National League West.
It is fortunate that Ty France was able to avoid serious injury after being hit by a pitch. His ability to remain calm and composed after the incident is a testament to his character and professionalism. Hopefully, he will be able to continue his strong performance for the rest of the season and help lead the Padres to a successful campaign.
