On Wednesday, TCU announced the hiring of Raegan Pebley Campbell as the new head coach of the TCU women’s basketball program. Campbell comes to TCU after a successful five-year stint at Sacramento State, where she led the Hornets to the NCAA Tournament for the first time in program history this past season.
Campbell is a highly respected coach who has earned numerous accolades during her career. She was named the Big Sky Conference Coach of the Year in 2017 and 2019, and was also named the West Region Coach of the Year in 2019. In addition, she was named the WBCA Region 8 Coach of the Year in 2018.
At Sacramento State, Campbell compiled an impressive record of 101-65, including a 64-30 mark in Big Sky play. She led the Hornets to three consecutive 20-win seasons and three straight postseason appearances, including a trip to the NCAA Tournament in 2019.
Campbell inherits a TCU program that has struggled in recent years. The Horned Frogs have not made an NCAA Tournament appearance since 2010 and have not won an NCAA Tournament game since 1993. However, Campbell is confident that she can turn things around at TCU.
“I’m excited to be joining TCU and to be part of a program that has such a rich tradition,” said Campbell. “I’m looking forward to working with the players, staff, and administration to build a championship-caliber program.”
Campbell brings a wealth of experience and knowledge to TCU, and she is sure to make an immediate impact on the program. With her leadership and guidance, TCU is sure to be back in the NCAA Tournament in no time.
