Texas Rangers Break Up Reid Detmers’ No-Hit Bid in 8th Inning Against Los Angeles Angels

MLB Seattle

On Tuesday night, the Texas Rangers put an end to Reid Detmers’ no-hit bid in the eighth inning against the Los Angeles Angels. Detmers, a rookie pitcher for the Angels, had been cruising through the game, allowing just one walk and striking out seven batters. He had retired the first 21 batters he faced before the Rangers finally broke through in the eighth inning.

The Rangers’ rally started with a leadoff single from Isiah Kiner-Falefa. After a sacrifice bunt from Nate Lowe, Joey Gallo drove in Kiner-Falefa with a single to right field. The next batter, David Dahl, then hit a two-run home run to give the Rangers a 3-0 lead.

Detmers was pulled after the home run and finished the night with 7 1/3 innings pitched, allowing three runs on three hits and one walk while striking out seven batters. Despite not getting the no-hitter, Detmers still had a very impressive outing and showed why he is one of the top pitching prospects in baseball.

The Rangers went on to win the game 3-2 and improve their record to 8-7 on the season. They have now won five of their last six games and are looking to build on their recent success.

Overall, it was an exciting game for both teams and a great performance by Detmers. While he didn’t get the no-hitter, he still showed why he is one of the top pitching prospects in baseball. It will be interesting to see how he continues to develop and how the Rangers continue to perform as the season progresses.
