Erriyon Knighton is a teenage sprinter who is quickly becoming a household name in the world of track and field. The 15-year-old from Florida is making waves with his impressive performances on the track, recently breaking Usain Bolt’s youth records in the 200m and 400m.
Knighton first began running competitively at the age of 11, and since then has been steadily improving his times. He set a personal best of 20.72 seconds in the 200m at the AAU Junior Olympics in 2019, breaking Bolt’s previous record of 20.75 seconds. He then went on to break Bolt’s 400m record of 46.35 seconds with a time of 45.93 seconds at the USATF Junior Olympics in 2020.
Knighton’s success has been attributed to his hard work and dedication to training. He trains six days a week, with two days dedicated to strength and conditioning and four days dedicated to speed and agility drills.
