The Seattle Storm faced off against the Detroit Wings in their second matchup of the season on Tuesday night. Unfortunately, the Storm were unable to come away with a win, losing the close game by a score of 79-75.
The Storm started off strong, leading by as many as 11 points in the first quarter. However, the Wings battled back in the second quarter and took a one-point lead into halftime. In the third quarter, the Wings extended their lead to seven points, but the Storm fought back and cut the deficit to just two points heading into the fourth quarter.
In the fourth quarter, the Wings pulled away and held onto their lead for the remainder of the game. The Storm had multiple chances to take the lead late in the game, but they were unable to capitalize on their opportunities.
The Storm were led by Breanna Stewart, who had a game-high 24 points and 12 rebounds. Jewell Loyd added 18 points and four assists, while Natasha Howard chipped in 12 points and seven rebounds.
The Wings were led by Allie Quigley, who had a team-high 20 points and four assists. Skylar Diggins-Smith added 17 points and four assists, while Isabelle Harrison chipped in 11 points and eight rebounds.
The loss was a tough one for the Storm, as they had multiple chances to take the lead late in the game. However, they were unable to capitalize on their opportunities and ultimately fell short. The Storm will look to bounce back in their next game against the Chicago Sky on Friday night.
