The Stars took an early lead in Game 4 of the Stanley Cup Finals against the Kraken on Wednesday night. The Stars, who are looking to win their first Stanley Cup in franchise history, jumped out to a 3-1 lead in the first period and never looked back.
The Stars were led by their captain, Tyler Seguin, who scored two goals in the first period. Seguin’s first goal came just over two minutes into the game and was followed by a goal from teammate Jamie Benn just over a minute later. Seguin then added his second goal of the game midway through the period to give the Stars a 3-1 lead.
The Kraken were able to get one goal back late in the first period, but the Stars held on to their lead for the remainder of the game. The Stars’ defense was outstanding, as they limited the Kraken to just 17 shots on goal throughout the game.
The Stars also got great goaltending from Ben Bishop, who made 16 saves on 17 shots. Bishop was especially impressive in the third period, when he stopped all eight shots he faced.
The Stars now have a 3-1 lead in the series and will look to close it out in Game 5 on Friday night. If they can do so, they will become the first team in franchise history to win the Stanley Cup.
It was an impressive performance from the Stars in Game 4 and they will look to carry that momentum into Game 5. With their defense playing well and Bishop playing at a high level, the Stars are in a great position to win their first Stanley Cup.
