The Stanford Cardinal men’s basketball team pulled off a major upset on Saturday night, defeating No. 4 Arizona 100-82. The Cardinal were led by Kanaan Carlyle and Spencer Jones, who both had impressive performances.
Carlyle had a career-high 30 points, shooting 11-of-15 from the field and 4-of-5 from three-point range. He also added five rebounds and four assists. Jones was equally impressive, scoring 28 points on 10-of-15 shooting from the field and 4-of-7 from three-point range. He also had five rebounds and four assists.
The Cardinal used a balanced attack to pull off the upset, with four players scoring in double figures. Oscar da Silva added 15 points and seven rebounds, while Daejon Davis chipped in with 12 points and six assists. Michael O’Connell rounded out the scoring with 11 points.
The Cardinal shot an impressive 56.3 percent from the field and 44.4 percent from three-point range. They also outrebounded the Wildcats 37-33 and had 20 assists on their 36 made field goals.
